The Coachways Bus Card remains the property of Coachways Ltd.

Prospective passengers are to purchase a Coachways Bus Card through our website-coachways.co.nz. Cards are to be loaded with a prepaid amount. Payment can only be made through our website, and no other method of payment is accepted.

It is the responsibility of the card holder to ensure that there are sufficient funds, loaded on the card for the intended journey, at all times.

Purchase of a Coachways Bus Card will be deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Purchase of a Coachways Bus Card is $50.00.

Only registered Coachways Bus Card holders are permitted to travel on our services.

Adults are not permitted to travel on our services.

 

Refusal of Service

 

Coachways Ltd reserves the right to decline travel for but not limited to the following reasons:

  • Not a registered card user of our services.
  • Insufficient funds on the card.
  • Abuse of other passengers or a Coachways Limited team member.
  • Carrying dangerous good such as firearms or flammables.
  • Funds from the Coachways Bus Card can only be used on designated services and is not applicable on any other service operated by Coachways Ltd.

 

Passenger Behaviour

 

Passengers must follow all reasonable instructions from Coachways Ltd team members.

Passengers are asked to refrain from the following.

  • Eating or drinking while on the bus.
  • Placing feet or bags on seats.
  •  
  • Smoking or using e cigarettes.
  • Causing damage to the vehicle or tampering with safety devices on Coachways Ltd vehicles.
  • Carrying more than two school bags or large heavy luggage.
  • Playing loud music.

 

Service Disruptions

 

Coachways Ltd will always do its best to provide service on advertised routes however Coachways Ltd accepts no responsibility and no compensation will be considered for trips that may be cancelled, run late or breakdown.

If Coachways Ltd collects a fare and is unable to complete the trip for any reason, no refunds will be offered and Coachways Ltd accepts no responsibility, and no compensation will be considered. Coachways will always endeavour to minimise inconvenience and arrange alternative options.

 

Monies Deposited on the Coachways Bus Card

 

Funds deposited on the Coachways Bus Card cannot be withdrawn from the card account. Funds deposited to the Coachways Card account shall only be applied against amounts on Coachways Limited designated school services. You understand and agree that the Coachways Card is not a credit card or debit card, nor can it be used to obtain cash or cash advances from the account under any circumstances.

 

 

Card Balances

 

Should the balance of a Coachways Bus Card go into negative balance, travel may be declined. It is the card holder’s responsibility to ensure that the Coachways Bus Card has sufficient funds for intended journeys.

If a Coachways Bus Card is presented and has insufficient funds, travel may be allowed at the discretion of Coachways Ltd and its representatives.

The passenger must provide Coachways Ltd and its representatives with their correct name, card number and phone number.

Providing false information may result in the cancelation of the passengers account (if one exists) and the passenger being banned from Coachways services.

 

Card Top Ups

 

Topping up of credit on the Coachways Bus Card should be completed at least 12 hours prior to intended travel to allow for the transactions to be finalised and uploaded to our card readers.

For passengers who pay by direct credit, allow 3 days. Failure to do so, may incur a manual transaction fee.

 

Insufficient Funds on Card

 

If a Coachways Bus Card is presented for travel, travel may be permitted if passengers, provides, the driver with their name phone number and card number. The fare will then be deducted from the card, and a $3.00 manual transaction fee will be applied along with the applicable fare.

 

 

 

 

Other Fees

A manual transaction is when Coachways Limited is required to deduct or add a fare or payment manually to or from the cardholders account.

The following administration fees will apply:

  • Payment by Direct Credit-$5.00 per transaction. (Transactions are free when paying via the website and this is the preferred method of payment)
  • Manual Transaction debit of a Coachways Bus Card- $3.00 per transaction.

Examples are but not limited to if a card has been lost and not reported, no card presented or insufficient funds.

 

Fare Evasion

 

If, in the opinion of Coachways Limited a passenger is deliberately attempting to evade paying a fare or correct fare or provides incorrect information when requested, Coachways reserves the right to cancel the persons account if they have one and ban the passenger from Coachways services.

 

No Refunds

 

If for any reason a cardholder no longer wishes to use our services, the account will be closed and any balance left on the card will NOT be refunded.  Cardholders are encouraged to manage the balance of the card towards the end of the year.

Lost Cards – If you lose your card, please go to your Coachways Card Account and suspend your account. Then email Coachways at admin@coachways.co.nz. Alternatively, you can contact us on 09 276 4130 Ext 702.

Coachways Limited will not accept responsibility for transactions made on lost or stolen cards or cards reported lost or stolen outside of normal business hours.

A fee of $20.00 will be charged for lost or damaged cards.

 

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions

Coachways Limited reserves the right to change the above terms and conditions without notice.
